I was one of several customers to purchase your first production run of the Hiking Stik and I have been very pleased with it. My particular staff is the fifty four inch, machined grip model anodized in dark green. I have used it frequently in the southern hills of Indiana and found it to be quite useful on the Knobstone Trail as well as many treks through state forests in Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois. Your staff provides not only stability in rough terrain but gives a measure of security with it's design of survival gear. To date, I have not actually had to use these survival items that are supplied with the staff but they certainly add preparation to meet the demands that wait on the trail. I also find it very useful for those shorter hikes in the state parks and forest loop trails where a backpack or day pack isn't always needed but this stik offers the same survival capabilities when going light, is strong enough to keep unfriendly creatures at bay, and lends to hiking at its best in any type of terrain. I am very pleased with my purchase and wouldn't leave for an outdoor adventure without it. Going solo in the wilderness I consider my Hiking Stik as a true companion. Thank you for a great product.
